Aside from Golfing, Spa, Dining and other relaxing activities at The International Golf Club & Resort, there are many beautiful areas to see and attractions to visit during your stay in the Town of Bolton.

The historic Town of Bolton, Massachusetts was founded in the late 1700’s and is located in the picturesque Nashoba Valley Region. It is the country home to horse farms and apple and fruit orchards. During your stay at The International we encourage you to visit the following Bolton area attractions.

Nashoba Valley Winery - Bolton Massachusetts

Less than a mile from  The International Golf Resort is the Nashoba Valley Winery, the ultimate destination for any wine connoisseur. The Nashoba Valley Winery has been featured in publications including Boston Magazine, Cooking Light and Yankee Magazine. “Boston Parents Paper” and “Cooking Lite Magazine” have both voted Nashoba Valley Winery “Best Place to Pick Apples.”

Bolton Orchards - Bolton Massachusetts

Fresh produce can be found at the very popular local Market “Bolton Orchards”. Bolton Orchards specializes in fresh local vegetables and foods, and is famous for their apples and apple cider. They also have a fresh deli, desserts and fresh plants and flowers.

Colonial Candies - Bolton Massachusetts

Colonial Candies Candy Mansion is located immediately off Exit 27, on the way to the International. This candy store specializes in boxed chocolates, fudge, and specialty candy. They also serve flavored soft serve, and local ice cream. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go!

Apple Picking at Bolton Spring Farms

Bolton Spring Farms is a local orchard where you can "pick your own fruit" in season. The Farm opens late August through the holidays. Bolton Spring Farms also has a farm store featuring their own produce, along with their famous "apple blossoms" and apple cider. On weekends they provide hayrides and pumpkin picking rides. They are located on 117 east of The International.

The Fruitlands Museum - Harvard, Massachusetts

The Museum of Russian Icons - Clinton, Massachusetts

The Museum of Russian Icons is located approximately two miles from The International Golf Club and Resort in Clinton. The Founded in 2006 as a non-profit educational institution by Massachusetts industrialist, Gordon B. Lankton, the collection includes more than 400 Russian icons, the largest collection of its kind in North America, and one of the largest private collections outside Russia. The collection spans six centuries, and includes important historical paintings dating from the earliest periods of icon “writing” to the present.


Harvard Farmers Market - Harvard, Massachusetts

Every Saturday 9am - 1pm thru October in front of the Harvard Elementary School on Rt 111. Various vendors from the local area, lots of variety, go to website for more information and directions.

Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge - Harvard, Massachusetts

Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge (NR) is located in north- central, Harvard, Massachusetts, approximately 35 miles northwest of Boston, MA. The refuge lies within the towns of Ayer and Shirley in Middlesex County and the towns of Harvard and Lancaster in Worcester County. The refuge consists of approximately 1,667 acres of upland, southern New England flood-plain forest, and wetland communities along nearly 8 miles of the Nashua River corridor. Take advantage of the many nature trails available on this National Reserve.

Twin Springs Family Golf Course - Bolton/Lancaster Line, Massachusetts

Twin Springs Golf Course is owned and operated by The International Golf Resort. Twin Springs offers a nine-hole public golf setting, which is very enjoyable to children and families. At Twin Springs, there are group lessons and camps for children and lessons for adults. Twin Springs is a great setting for families who might wish to golf together with smaller children.

Liberty Hill Equestrian Facility - Lancaster, Massachusetts

Horseback riding can be found just minutes away from the International Golf Resort, at Liberty Hill, an equestrian facility located on a pristine country estate in Lancaster. Members and visitors to The International have been using this wonderful facility for many years. Visits are available by appointment by contacting our reception desk at The International or calling Liberty Hill directly.

Davis' Farmland - Sterling, Massachusetts

Davis' Farmland is a children's petting farm, along with various activities such as hay rides, demonstrations, playgrounds and sprinkler park. Located in Sterling Massachusetts, Davis' Farmland is fun for all ages! During the Fall Season Davis' re-opens it's ever-changing MegaMaze, which is great for all ages, including older kids and adults.

Animal Adventures -  - Bolton, Massachusetts

Animal Adventures, recently nominated for a 2009 Nickelodeon's Parents' Picks Award is also located in Bolton. This educational facility offers special animal shows on an ongoing basis, which can be found on their web site.


Fairs and Events

The Bolton Fair, held each year in Lancaster/Bolton, is a traditional New England fair with animal exhibits and shows, crafts, artisans, entertainers, a midway, and a farmer’s market. The Fair draws attendees from all over New England and is one of the few remaining Fairs to focus on agriculture and animals. The Fair is located off Route 117 at the Bolton Fairgrounds, in Lancaster Massachusetts.

Bolton, Massachusetts is only 40 minutes from Boston and 25 minutes from Worcester both home to many other museums and tourist attractions.

Winter Attractions Near Bolton Massachusetts

Two ski areas
are within 20 minutes of The International Golf Club Resort & Conference Center, The Nashoba Valley Ski Area is a small ski area which is extremely family friendly and within 15 minutes from the International located just off 495 in Westford MA. For a better vertical challenge Wachussett Mountain offers a variety of night and day skiing.
