Built in 1901, The Pines Course originally consisted of 66 acres of open farmland that proved to be ideal for a "short but tricky" nine-hole course. In 1954, Geoffrey Cornish, with input from Francis Ouimet, had the distinction of designing the regulation course that exists today. In 1972, Robert Trent Jones was contracted to enhance the experience and modify many of the slick greens and challenging bunkers.

In Spring of 2021, the Pines Course reopened to member & guest play, having been left mostly unmaintained for many months. Initial investments were made to install new sand for all the bunkers on the course. The agronomy team restored the high level of conditioning and quality playing services expected from a premiere private golf club. The course was both the 2021 and 2022 golf seasons and will close at the end of 2022 for Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw to begin a reimagination project. The Coore & Crenshaw team is excited about the opportunity to work on such a fantastic piece of property. 

In early September 2021, more than 150 current and prospective members attended An Evening with Coore & Crenshaw to hear their initial thoughts on the new layout, their history in the greater Boston area and the state of the game of golf.
